K’NEXpert Grand Prize Winners Lauded with Special Event

K’NEX Brands, the only U.S. construction toy company focused on Building Worlds Kids Love™, celebrated the 2012 K’NEXpert Search Grand Prize winners with a special one-day event at K’NEX headquarters. On December 2nd, the three winners, 5 year old Andy from Waterloo, ON, Canada; 7 year old Andrew from Glenmoore, PA; and 9 year old Josef from Plano, TX; traveled to Hatfield, PA as guests of K’NEX President Michael Araten.
“The K’NEXpert Search is our way of giving back to the K’NEX builders who are the lifeblood of our company, and honoring the incredible imagination of children,” commented Mr. Araten. “The K’NEXpert Award Ceremony is something the entire K’NEX company looks forward to each year. The kids bring so much energy and excitement to our building, and even our seasoned designers are amazed to see what they’ve created!”
This year, for the first time, the three grand prize winners were awarded $ 20,000 U.S. savings bonds for college in celebration of the upcoming K’NEX 20th anniversary in 2012. As part of the K’NEXpert Award Ceremony, the winners received their prize, enjoyed a lunch with K’NEX designers, and received a private factory tour. The day culminated with an opportunity for the winners to stock up on their favorite K’NEX parts and pieces directly from the warehouse. Throughout the day, the three young builders’ award-winning models were displayed at K’NEX headquarters.
